In 1987, the wicked came to town
Tryin' to tear the old theatre down
Build a castle for the rich and drive away the poor
But the neighborhood decided not to play along
Mass protest and militant action
Forced the investors to a hasty retraction
So when the house way empty, it was ready to be entered
